A mother was horrified when she spotted a naked man drugged up on ‘spice’ playing football in her back garden.

The stranger had climbed over two gates and stood outside Dawn Owen’s lounge window before he started playing kick-about in the back garden of her property at Hall Drive in Lincoln.

The 61-year-old had been startled by the man moments earlier when he wandered through her home and made his way into the rear garden while she was hanging out the washing.

He had a ‘vacant look’ on his face and acted like he had taken ‘spice’, according to Dawn who was left terrified by the encounter which took place on Friday, September 15.

She said: “My heart stopped – I was terrified.

“You recall what you watch on the telly and I tried to remain calm.

“The gates were locked at the side and anything could have happened.

“I led him out of the house, along the drive to the gate.

“He had an absolutely vacant look on his face, he was not chirpy – he was on spice, oh god yes.

“I have spoken to my friend in A&E and she says his behaviour is typical of someone on the stuff.”

Dawn returned to her home and locked the front door, but saw two shopping bags on the floor that weren’t hers.

The man, thought to be in his late 20s, rung the bell moments later, saying he had left his shopping in her home.

Dawn passed him bags, but refused him entry into her home after he had asked to charge his phone.

He then rung the bell again, but when Dawn went to the door, he had stripped off and was completely naked.

She called the police who were on their way when the man climbed over the gates and stood outside her lounge window.

Dawn, who had returned home in the afternoon to carry out a conference call for work, said: “He had scaled two locked gates.

“He then proceeded to play football, naked, in my garden while I was trapped in my home terrified.”

Police arrived after Dawn’s call and detained the man who had made his way back to the front of the property.

Dawn, who also called her husband Paul who raced to her aid, said the incident has left her shaken and has warned others to remain vigilant.

She said: “You think you’re alright and comfortable but you are not.

“You need to remain vigilant.

“I feel very lucky that it did not turn into anything nasty.”
