Penis Park, Korea
Haeshindang Park in Sinnam, South Korea, is better known as “Penis Park.” Legend says the park honors a young virgin whose fisherman boyfriend left her on a rock while he fished at sea. A storm hit, and she died. Afterward, villagers couldn’t catch any fish. So they carved giant wooden penises to appease her spirit — and apparently, it worked.
Today the park holds dozens of phallic statues, along with sexual icons and art from different cultures, shaman rituals, and the history of the local fishing community.
